Paul and I first met in high school, but we ran in different crowds. That was back around 1998. Fast forward to 2023, when Paul wished me a happy birthday on Facebook and asked about my hike in Fredericksburg. A little small talk turned into longer conversations, and before we knew it, our relationship grew into a beautiful story of perseverance, patience, growth, a few tests along the way—and, of course, love.
Together, we’ve blended our family: my beautiful daughters, Evelyn and Vivian, and our two fur babies, Canela and Uva.
Early in our relationship, while we were on a date eating ice cream in downtown Austin, I remember Paul telling me, “You know you’re going to marry me.” It was a bold statement—one that’s now becoming true.
In November 2025, Paul and I traveled to Mexico City for Día de los Muertos, and it was there—on a hot air balloon ride—that he popped the question! There wasn’t much room in the balloon (definitely not enough to get down on one knee), but Paul stood behind me and started telling me how special the day was and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me by his side. When I turned around, he had a ring in his hand—and someone was recording the whole moment. It was so sweet. Everyone was clapping! We took amazing photos and even got drone footage.
That incredible excursion also included a visit to the Aztec pyramids. We climbed 47 very steep steps up the Pyramid of the Moon—and that’s where Paul proposed a second time. We had to get the classic “down on one knee” photo, and it was worth it. People all around us congratulated us. It was a such a sweet moment.
So here we are—planning and preparing for our big day in Costa Mujeres, Mexico. We hope to create a memorable, fun, and unforgettable experience as we travel together and celebrate with our friends and family on this destination wedding adventure.
With love,
Paul & Jess
